Dr. Roxana Chis

Dr. Roxana Chis MD MSc FRCPC is a Clinician in the Division of Gastroenterology at Humber River Hospital.

 

She graduated with a BSc and then MSc from the University of Toronto. She then completed her MD and internal medicine training at Queen’s University followed by general gastroenterology training at the University of Toronto.

 

She then continued her fellowship training in inflammatory bowel disease at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto followed by advanced luminal endoscopy at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. During this time, she also completed the Clinician Investigator Program at the University of Toronto and is currently finalizing her MSc in Clinical Epidemiology at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.

 

Dr. Chis’ clinical and research interest lie at the intersection of medical management of inflammatory bowel disease and advanced endoscopy. She is interested in managing complications of IBD endoscopically (resection of large polyps, visible precancerous lesions, dilations of strictures) in order to attempt to prevent surgical intervention where possible.
